"Excellence in historic preservation and architecture"
American Institute of Architects Award,
Presented to Jim Doyle/Continuum
Trust your renovation to the company responsible for the historic renovation of a Church that has been home to presidents, members of Congress, and world leaders for nearly 200 years.
When the Foundry United Methodist Church, built in 1815, needed to make their Church more energy efficient and more welcoming for today’s parishioners – they called on Jim Doyle from Continuum to handle the project.
Continuum constructed an entirely mobile and modular system so that the altar, pulpit, communion rail, and organ could be both functional and flexible to meet the needs of an active and growing parish.
The Foundry United Methodist Church has been a church attended by leaders from Presidents Lincoln and Roosevelt to Sir Winston Churchill and President Clinton – so Continuum was focused on retaining the beauty of the original work by authenticating finishes that dated back to the 19th century.
The American Institute of Architects was clearly impressed by the work –presenting Continuum an award for “excellence in historic preservation and architecture.” The committee members who visited the Church were most impressed by the fact that “they could not tell where the original work ended and the new work started.”
Continuum’s work on the Foundry United Methodist Church is just an example of the creativity, care, and commitment to quality that Continuum brings to every project – from historic renovations – to home remodeling – to office build-outs.
